The preview of the 5th Challenge: Zurich Airport
The next Challenge is coming up this weekend. Join us live when our drivers take on our very own Zurich Airport Circuit once again!
Preview
Zurich Airport is a very busy place these days, with lots of people getting on planes during the holiday break. Luckily for us, the RU23 has been given the green light as the daily operations at the virtual airport will be halted for our races.
Our drivers, however, are currently preparing for another thrilling weekend of racing action on the longest track on the calendar. The high-speed track is characterized by long straights but also technical passages. Fast bends, chicanes, and some slower corners make the track a challenge, but one that offers a lot of opportunities for overtakes.
Championship leader Alejandro Sanchez will be hoping for a cleaner race compared to last October when a 15s time penalty cost him the victory, and the Spaniard finished in 9th, with the Czech chaser Michal Smidl inheriting the victory. The pair is currently separated by 13 points, and we can't wait to see who will have the edge this Saturday. The livestreams start at 10:30 CET.
The evening before, we will be focusing on the Challenger League. Janik Pletscher's lead over Nico Fahland amounts to 14 points, but don't count out Marcos Valverde, who has picked up a second place in Mugello, followed by a win in Imola. He is level with Agustin Torlaschi, who has won the race in Mugello and finished in fourth place in Imola. They currently trail Pletscher by 16 points.
The broadcasts for the Challenger League will begin at 19:00 CET. We hope to see you there!
