The championship is approaching the final straight. For the third-to-last race of the season, our drivers make the virtual trip to Belgium.
Preview
The Spa-Francorchamps circuit, a jewel of Formula 1, stretches picturesquely through the hills and forests of the Belgian Ardennes. With its rich motorsport history and challenging track layout, it is considered one of the favourite circuits for many drivers and fans. The 7-kilometre track is famous for its breathtaking elevation changes and fast corners, personified by the legendary Eau Rouge-Raidillon combination, which challenges the courage and skills of all drivers.
Our drivers in the Racer and Challenger Leagues will also be taking on this challenge this weekend.
In both leagues, the first chasers of the current leaders are trying to relaunch the championship.
Alejandro Sanchez has recently lost more and more ground on last year's winner Michal Smidl, with the result that he is now 25 points behind.
In addition, Angelo Michel has been closing in on the Spaniard in recent races; the gap between the two is now only seven points. It will therefore be interesting to see whether Smidl will make the preliminary decision this Saturday, or whether things will get really tight at the top once again.
In the Challenger League, the duel throughout the season has been Pletscher vs Fahland, with the Swiss driver pulling out a 20-point lead. Behind him, there is a Madrilenian three-way battle for the last place on the podium: Marcos Valverde, Agustin Torlaschi and streamer Borja Zazo are likely to fight it out for the bronze medal.
The race weekend promises to be exciting once again on both days. Make sure you don't miss a thing by following along on YouTube or Twitch or registering for the guest list in Kemptthal right here. As always, there will be free aperitifs and drinks!
The event starts at 19:00 on Friday evening and at 10:30 on Saturday morning.
